Report: Eintracht Frankfurt to buy Luka Jovic from Benfica

Luka Jovic, who scored the game-winning goal for Eintracht Frankfurt on the DFB Pokal semifinals on Wednesday, is reportedly going to be bought for €12m from Benfica. Jovic, who has been on loan this season with Eintracht Frankfurt, is only 20 years old and has been one of the bright sports for the Eagles in their terrific run this season.

Portuguese outlet, A Bola, first reported the movement this morning, but no formal announcement has been made by either Eintracht Frankfurt or Benfica. The Serbian striker has eight goals (seven in the Bundesliga, one in the DFB Pokal) across all top-tier competitions and has been a breakout star for the Eagles over the past two months.

Considered to be an integral part of the next phase of Frankfurt's ascent up the Bundesliga standings, Jovic will have to progress over the next year without the guidance of Niko Kovac, who will leave Frankfurt after the season to take over for Jupp Heynckes at Bayern Munich.
