Hansi Flick reaches deal with Bayern Munich

When Hansi Flick took the reins from Niko Kovac, there was some doubt on whether or not the 55-year-old would be up to the task on a long-term basis.

Any perceived issues has long since been erased as Flick has reached a deal to coach Bayern Munich through the 2023 season. Flick has been excellent while in charge of the Bavarians and has been able to "reach" the players in a way that both Kovac and Carlo Ancelotti were not able to.

While Flick's performance as a manager was exemplary, there was some doubt on whether or not the Bayern Munich board would ultimately name him the coach on a full-time basis. One of the primary obstacles that was perceived to be on the bargaining table was the amount of say that Flick wanted to have on transfers and roster decisions. If true, that situation was worked out to the point where both sides could agree to move forward.

The move ultimately creates stability for Bayern Munich and will allow the current roster to officially settle in under a coach it knows will be there for a while.
