It's finally time for Josh Sargent at Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen has had a decent enough start to its season sitting at 9th in the table with a 5-3-5 record. There has clearly been a little bit of lag setting in, however, for Die Werderaner and the club is making an effort to add some energy and scoring flair into its lineup.

Enter rising USMNT star and Missouri native Josh Sargent.

After weeks of speculation, Sargent has pushed his way into the first team selection. With Werder Bremen starting to hit a bit of a scoring lull, there is no better time to integrate a forward that can push the pace with skill and precision like Sargent. Sargent will be on the game day roster for Werder Bremen's tilt against Fortuna Düsseldorf, which will air on Friday December 7th at 2:30PM EST on FS2.

Per the club, it's time to see if the 18-year old is ready to showcase his skills on the big stage:

Sargent becomes the latest USMNT star and/or hopeful to progress to a first team squad in the Bundesliga. Following the path of other players 23-years old or less, Sargent will join Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic (who may need a change of scenery), Schalke's Weston McKennie and Haji Wright, and Hertha Berlin's Jonathan Klinsmann in suiting up for their respective first teams this season. In addition, RBNY midfielder Tyler Adams will be moving over to RB Leipzig in January to add another name to the list.

Sargent recently told Bundesliga.com that he was eagerly awaiting his opportunity - and now it is here:

"When the coach says my time has come, I'll be ready. I'm doing everything I can to show that I'm ready to play for the first team."

Regardless, this is a moment Sargent has been waiting for. Whether or not he gets minutes this week (hopefully he does) is almost irrelevant. Sargent has made it; now he just have to prove he's ready to stay.
