Thorgan Hazard is the man everyone wants

To anyone regularly following the Bundesliga the surge in popularity for Thorgan Hazard is a little bewildering.

The Borussia Monchengladbach man has been terrorizing German defenses since suiting up for Die Fohlen, but only now does it appear that some European heavyweights have taken notice.

Expertly skilled, with great pace, vision, and anticipation, Hazard has started to draw the attention of many big clubs including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Everton, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund.

It's no shock that Chelsea (which sold Hazard to Borussia Monchengladbach), Bayern, or BVB would all have a keen interest in the Belgian, but the rumored looks from Liverpool, Manchester United, and Everton show that Hazard's wonderous skill is drawing him interest from clubs outside of those already closely following his body of work.

Hazard's deal runs through June 30, 2020, which makes him a prime candidate to be sold or extended in the coming months. Given Hazard's performance and production in the first half of the season, it could be a great time for M'Gladbach to maximize its return on investment or make a full commitment to build around the talented forward.

Hazard has an astounding 12 goals and seven assists in 19 games across all competitions, which has helped drive his value to €38M (per Transfermarkt), which would seemingly be a bargain for a player that has been so productive.

Hazard's primary position is as a left wing, but he could play the roles of right wing or centrally as a "False 9" if necessary. His performance at left wing, however, is where he really can provide the biggest impact on the pitch.

For Hazard, though, this is a key point in his career. Can he parlay his recent success and proven skills into a spot with a team who is Champions League bound or is it better to continue to grow with M'Gladbach as it bolsters its roster to compete for a top six position? Either way, if Hazard keeps up his current pace, the 25-year old might not be spending much more time in the shadow of older brother Eden.
